Capella University Announces Collaboration with The Wall Street Journal

March 31, 2015

Capella University (http://www.capella.edu) announced today that it has teamed with The Wall Street Journal to further expand its students’ knowledge of business, finance and economics and deepen their ability to connect classroom concepts with real-world events and work environments. Through the collaboration, Capella business students and faculty will have full digital access to real-time business and technology news on WSJ.com, as well as workshops and webinars produced by The Wall Street Journal at no additional cost. Capella University (http://www.capella.edu) is a regionally accredited online university* that offers online degree programs designed to help working adults advance in their careers.

“We are very pleased to be collaborating with Capella University to provide the Journal's real-time business, financial, and economic coverage as well as our expert technology reporting to their students. By making time to read the Journal, these students are furthering their studies as well as their ambitions. As Journal readers they are welcomed into a community of successful and intellectually curious people who prioritize achievement and being at the top of their game,” said Suzi Watford, Chief Marketing Officer, Dow Jones.

Students enrolled in Capella’s bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and certificate business programs receive full digital access to WSJ.com following successful completion of their first course. In addition to reading related news coverage, students can use WSJ.com to track companies and industries that most interest them, research topics relevant to their courses and careers, monitor statistics and economic reports, and save and share pertinent articles with other students. Capella business students also will have access to WSJ.com’s tablet and smart phone applications and other industry leading business content, including webinars and workshops. As part of this benefit, students can also enjoy the full breadth of Journal coverage beyond business and technology news, including its broad coverage of global politics as well as its sports, culture, fashion, and entertainment reporting.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer our business students an even richer academic experience through our collaboration with The Wall Street Journal, an internationally recognized authority on business news and information,” said Barbara Butts Williams, Ph.D., dean of Business at Capella University’s School of Business and Technology. “Like business leaders who rely on the Journal to make sense of the evolving world of business today, our business students will have information at their fingertips to expand their awareness and understanding of up-to-the-minute business, economic, and market news. By immersing students in the latest business news and information, Capella and The Wall Street Journal help them develop the skills, knowledge, and business acumen desired by organizations.”
