Capella offers two specializations within its MS in Information Assurance and Security. In the Digital Forensics specialization, students examine the ways data can be hidden on a computer, evaluate computer forensics investigation tools and procedures, apply methods of handling and transporting uncovered data, and create the reports necessary for presentation of evidence at trial. This specialization is designed around industry standards and provides students with the foundational information that contributes to the knowledge required to sit for the Certified Cyber Forensics Professional (CCFPSM) and Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI) exams.
The Network Defense specialization prepares information security professionals to assess, develop, and implement solutions to safeguard the information assets and enterprise IT infrastructures of an organization. It is designed around industry standards and provides students with the foundational information that contributes to the knowledge required to sit for the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Certified Network Defense Architect (CNDA) exams.
