The International Society of Performance Improvement (ISPI) honors Capella University, an accredited online university, with Chapter of Excellence award

The online degree provider's ISPI Virtual Chapter is recognized for excellence in the field of performance improvement

MINNEAPOLIS, March 14, 2012 – The International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) has honored Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, with a Chapter of Excellence award for the second consecutive year. ISPI's Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding achievements of individuals and organizations in the field of performance improvement. As of Dec. 31, 2011, more than 37,000 students are pursuing an online degree at Capella, with nearly 80 percent enrolled in Capella's doctoral degree programs and master's degree programs. The Capella ISPI Virtual Chapter is open to Capella students and graduates who have an interest in performance improvement. The ISPI specifically recognized Capella chapter for the following features:

  • Project Bank: graduates post projects from their worksites that students can take on to complete as course deliverables in Capella's master's degree and PhD programs.
  • Publishing Challenge: members support each other in developing articles and book chapters for publication.
  • Peer Support: graduates work with students writing their dissertations to encourage them to persist to graduation.
  • Webinars: leaders in the field present directly to Capella chapter members.
  • Discussion Boards: students and graduates engage in dialogue about the industry, supports, conference and publishing opportunities, job opportunities, and more.

Capella's ISPI Virtual Chapter will also be recognized at THE Performance Improvement Conference, which will be held April 18-23 in Toronto.
