MINNEAPOLIS, June 14, 2012 – As part of its ongoing effort to make higher education more affordable, Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, has announced a series of grants for new students – up to $6,000 for most bachelor's degree programs, and up to $5,000 for select master's degree and MBA programs. Bachelor's degree grants At the undergraduate level, new Capella students will be eligible for a $6,000 grant, which will be distributed evenly over six quarters when they begin an eligible Bachelor of Science (BS) program between July and December 2012, pass the first course, and enroll in seven or more credits in each quarter of the grant term. This grant is one of several ways Capella is lowering the cost of earning a degree, which also include credit for prior learning and certifications, and a bachelor's-to-master's degree tuition discount.
Master's degree grants At the master's degree level, Capella will offer a $5,000 grant for new students who enroll in a Master of Science in IT or Master of Science in Education, in July, August or September 2012; or a MBA program in July or August 2012. The deadline to apply is Aug. 20, 2012, for the MBA program, and Sept. 10, 2012, for the MS in IT and MS in Education programs. A $3,000 grant will be available to new students in Capella's Master of Psychology program who enroll between July and December 2012.
