MINNEAPOLIS, November 29, 2011 – The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education* (CCNE) has accredited Capella University's Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) online degree programs. CCNE is a U.S. Secretary of Education-approved accrediting agency that monitors the quality of college-level nursing programs. Capella offers five specializations within its MSN program: Nurse Educator, Nurse Educator Bridge, Nursing Leadership and Administration, Diabetes Nursing, and Gerontology Nursing. The online university offers an RN-to-BSN Degree Completion specialization within its BSN program.

In addition, Capella is actively pursuing CCNE accreditation for its Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and has a site visit scheduled for spring 2012
