Representative of Capella University, an accredited online university, elected to steering committee of WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies (WCET)

Sharyl Thompson, external regulatory affairs manager for the online university, will serve a two-year term

MINNEAPOLIS, October 7, 2011WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies (WCET) has elected Sharyl Thompson, external regulatory affairs manager for Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, to its 15-member steering committee representing private/independent institutions. Thompson will serve a two-year term.

The steering committee is representative of WCET membership and makes recommendations on programmatic issues of interest to the membership. It also leads and/or contributes to activities in support of WCET's programs and membership, upon the request of the steering committee chair and executive director.

WCET has, and continues to serve higher education with a wealth of resources and information, especially and most recently with the new federal regulations pertaining to program integrity. WCET is an organization that works to accelerate the adoption of effective practices and policies, advancing excellence in technology-enhanced teaching and learning in higher education. Its collaborative membership is comprised of:
