MINNEAPOLIS, March 17, 2010 - Capella University, an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, will host its 18th commencement ceremony for the more than 550 Capella students who are expected to participate in the event at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Ariz. Addressing the keynote speech will be Major L. Tammy Duckworth, a doctoral student from the online university who currently serves as the Assistant Secretary for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Duckworth is an Iraq War veteran, former U.S. Army helicopter pilot, and recipient of many distinguished service awards, including a Purple Heart, an Air Medal, and an Army Commendation Medal. She was recently inducted into the U.S. Army Women's Foundation Hall of Fame.
